EDIUS SD is a turnkey NLE system, available exclusively through Canopus Authorized System Integrators. EDIUS SD is designed for studios and production houses that work primarily with standard definition video content today, yet anticipate migrating to HD content and devices in the future. EDIUS SD systems share the same realtime, multi-layer HD/SD editing and effects processing featured in EDIUS HD, and can be upgraded to full EDIUS HD systems, complete with HD I/O, at any time.
The proprietary Canopus elements within EDIUS SD systems are comprised of three key components: EDIUS Broadcast NLE software; the innovative, high-quality Canopus software video codecs including Canopus HQ, Canopus HD, Canopus Lossless and SD uncompressed; and the RX-E1 input/output hardware card with its companion SD-SDI I/O module. The EDIUS SD hardware may optionally be configured into the HDBX1000, a convenient, 3U rack-mountable multi-I/O processor unit.
